Blown away by the excellent menu and kitchen at this brewpub. Very upscale. Excellent beers, of course. And fantastic patio seating.

Don't let the brewery vibe fool you, Legion (with two other locations - each with different menus) is putting out some serious eats from their kitchen. Legion's brews are well loved in the Charlotte area, their Juicy Jay IPA is signature. But they also (thankfully) do a solid Pilsner which is hard to find at competitors. The Southpark location is a great open space with a large round bar and large picnic style seating on the ground floor and additional seating on an upstairs mezzanine. The large outside patio faces West and can be hot in the summer but awnings and fans help cool the outside tables and bench seating. The menu is solid with a good selection of shareables (the dip trio is a go-to and includes pimento cheese). The steak salad is my repeat choice with medium rare slices over a huge bowl of mixed greens, corn, diced tomato, cukes, egg and avocado in large measure. Much of the offerings come courtesy their wood fired grill Service is fast, friendly and efficient. We have yet to not enjoy a visit. It will get crowded on weekend evenings but there is a lot of space and rarely a wait. Legion does food better than many nearby casual restaurants and the excellent brewery is the cherry on top of this cake.

I had such an amazing time here! I came here with my very newly adopted pup Leila, and we just had the best time. We sat outside and it was a really nice day to sit outside. Sophie, our waitress, was so kind to us and just super supported our new rescue bond. I ordered Prosecco, which was good (especially for a brewery), as well as the duck confit sandwich (YUM YUM YUM!). But def don't recommend their boiled peanuts (better Southern bet at a random gas station lol) - while I didn't love this particular item, I loved everything else I tried plus the service. Also, I did go to the bathroom here, and super clean bathrooms! Always a plus in my book! :)

We tried Legion Brewing on a Saturday evening. We had about a five minute wait. Jenna was our waitress and did a great job taking care of us. My friend had the bourbon sirloin. He said it was very good. I had the shrimp and grits. It was very good. The only thing I would add to that is some bread because you need it to dip in all the great sauce. Of course the beer was good too! I would go back again.

Came here early afternoon on Sunday for late lunch/early dinner with family. They are limited on space to watch football on the tvs in the dining area, but we had a seat directly below one and could watch the panthers game. We split the pretzel and the rib sliders. They were both great, but the rib sliders were the winners for us! The slaw saved our tastebuds from the heat and the everyone enjoyed them. For the meal, I got the grilled chicken sandwich after debating the fried chicken grilled cheese (the server said it was spicy). Good ambiance and great attention was paid to us from our server. Definitely will be back!

We haven't been back to this brewery in awhile, so decided to revisit... We arrived pretty early (by 5:30 pm), so there were plenty of open tables. However, initially, the Hostess tried to take us to a crappy seat (claustrophic area, facing the kitchen). I basically refused, and said I'd rather wait. Well, I knew I didn't need to because I saw plenty of seatings available, with better views. We quickly got seated in an open area by the window. Why do Hostesses try to seat you in crappy areas when there are PLENTY of better tables available?? It's a joykill right off the bat...so WHY?!? Once we got seated, a waiter was right on it...and he stayed super-attentive throughout. We started with this SouthPark Dip Platter. Well, I actually saw a pic of this on Yelp prior to...and thought it'd be all-out delicious. Well, sadly, it wasn't as great as I had hoped. I thought it'd be a tad tastier?? Presentation wasn't all that either...despite better pics on Yelp. For the entree, I went for the Carmelized Short Rib Sliders...and now, THIS was quite tasty! My husband went with the Fried Catfish Po Boy Tacos, and he really liked that too. We also added Southern Green Beans with Bacon...and that was delish as well. My husband enjoyed his blond beer (??), and I absolutely loved my Mango Passion. It was so delicious, I nearly chugged it down lol. Despite a questionable beginning, we ended up enjoying ourselves here again. We liked most of the foods, but I guess the big disappointment was the Dip Platter. We'll definitely skip that next time. I must add, however, that the food presentation was quite sloppy all throughout. I basically had to "fix" all of the foods before taking pics. Given that it wasn't that busy, it would have been nice if the kitchen staff tried a little harder making the dishes a bit more presentable. Also, I don't recall hearing any overhead music...in a brewery?!? If it was on, it was on really low...'cuz again, I can't even recall hearing anything. This is a pretty attractive looking brewery, but the ambiance just wasn't there tonight. I really struggled between 3 and 4 stars this time due to all the reasons mentioned, but the super-delicious Short Rib Sliders saved the day...keeping them at 4 stars.

Ok, I am definitely NOT a brewpub guy for a meal. Usually avoid them like Flat Earther avoids science, but hot damn is the food here good. The inside is unique, kinda makes you feel like you're inside a wooden beer barrel, so bonus points for design! The menu, while not extensive seems curated to concentrate on doing a few things very well, and adding in seasonal items/entrees. The service is excellent, my server Jo was amazing. I tried the Pho Mi Dip, and wow! Blown away by the perfect flavors, perfectly cooked tender meat and crunchy veggies. Even the baguette was both crispy and pillowy, exactly as a Banh Mi roll should be. They served it with a couple of ounces of broth to dip it in which just added to the perfection of the sandwich. I have eaten at every restaurant in the Piedmont Town Center and this is easily #1 for food, service, atmosphere and value. Don't pass it by. I almost did because "it's just another brewpub". It's not. Added current menus as of today, 6/26/23 since they do change.
